Edinburgh Elopement on Calton Hill
Gracie & Kelan ditched their big wedding plans in the US for an elopement in Scotland with just the two of them. They decided to avoid the marriage visa, do the legal paperwork at home, and come to Edinburgh for the symbolic ceremony exchanging vows on top of Calton Hill. They both got ready at the 100 Princes Street Hotel, a newly renovated Hotel right in the centre of the city with amazing views across Princes Street gardens and up to the Castle. Laura Fairley did Gracie’s hair and make-up, and Gracie & Kelan’s flowers were from Snapdragon.
The morning was super relaxed as we had no fixed ceremony time. Once they were both ready we aught a taxi from outside the hotel up to the top of Calton Hill. The weather was unbelievably beautiful, and we had clear blue skies and little to no wind up the top. They had an emotional vow exchange against the backdrop of Arthur’s Seat in the distance. After their ceremony, we took a little walk around the hill, taking in the incredible views of the Edinburgh city skyline. We then caught a taxi to the Old Town, to have a wander around some of Edinburgh’s beautiful streets, eventually ending up at the Witchery, where they had booked dinner.
It was an incredibly beautiful, calm and perfect day for Gracie & Kelan in Edinburgh. Here are some of my favourite digital and 35 mm film photos from their elopement.
