The Free Company Wedding - Edinburgh
Hazel & Jamie had a beautiful and relaxed wedding day at The Free Company in Balerno, just on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The Free Company is a regenerative farm, using a lot of their own produce to create beautiful food for their restaurant. It’s a beautiful setting for weddings, overlooking the Pentland Hills and plenty of indoors and outdoors space to suit the weather.
Hazel & Jamie both got ready in the new town, just a stones through from each other. Each with their respective families and friends it was a super relaxed and lovely morning as they got ready for the wedding day.
The wedding ceremony was held in the courtyard at the Free Company, under the canvas in case of any May showers, by the lovely Linda from Agnostic Scotland. With personal stories and lovely readings, the ceremony was an emotional and beautiful moment to mark Hazel and Jamie’s marriage. After tossing confetti and a few formal photos, they got into the drinks reception — enjoying daiquiris (their favourite drink), music from friends and good chat with all their lovely guests.
Dinner was served around 5 pm and the food, as always from The Free Company, was incredible. After dinner, their guests enjoyed more drinks and music by the fire before the band kicked off with a ceilidh and some covers to see out the evening.
Hazel & Jamie had a super relaxed but intentional day with their friends and family and it was a real pleasure to photograph it all on digital and 35 mm film. Here’s a few of my favourite photos from their wedding at The Free Company.
